Large mid-century coffee or side table featuring handmade ceramic tiles supported by a chrome frame. Belgian ceramic artist Juliette Belarti (a pun based on the Italian word Bella Arte) was famous for bright multicolored ceramic top tables in many variations. The original Spanish glazed tiles mounted on the tabletop were produced in flamed hues ranging from dark maroon to a sienna yellow / orange and bordeaux. The tiles are embedded in a charcoal grey enameled steel case. The chrome metal base and banding gives the table a lightweight modernist appearance. The quality of the material is confirmed by the very high weight of the piece.
